Project 1: Inside the £10k renovation that added 25% value to this iconic Glasgow property.

Set within one of Glasgow’s most iconic buildings — the former lightbulb factory known as the Luma Tower — this flat had bags of potential, but needed a complete refresh to bring it back to life.
The financials:
Purchase price: £120,000
Renovation investment: £10,000
Total spend: £130,000
Sale price: £150,199
Total uplift in value: £20,199
Return on investment: ~15.5%
Increase on original purchase price: ~25%
I purchased the 2-bed property for £120,000 and invested around £10,000 in a carefully planned renovation.
The upgrades focused on creating a stylish, modern space that celebrated the building’s industrial heritage while offering contemporary living.
After completion, the flat sold for £150,199 — a 25% increase in value.
What I did:
Installed a brand-new bathroom with a luxurious rainfall shower, replacing the outdated bath
Fitted a modern new kitchen, adding underfloor heating in both the kitchen and bathroom for extra comfort
Opened up the kitchen and living room to create a sociable, open-plan layout
Designed and installed a bespoke concrete countertop to add a bold, industrial touch
Redesigned the flat with a fresh, colourful palette, layering in art, lighting, and thoughtful styling throughout
Despite the flat being in a location that can sometimes challenge first-time buyers, the renovation attracted strong interest.
The mix of functional improvements and bold interior design made it stand out on the market — leading to a quick sale and a significant return.
At Suvdal Interiors, I specialise in spotting hidden potential and adding real value through creative renovations — whether you're flipping, selling, or reimagining your own home.
